Wage Indexation in October 2021

On Friday, October 1, 2021, Luxembourg's Minister of Economy Franz Fayot announced that the wage indexation is confirmed.

According to the provisional result published by STATEC, the annual inflation rate of the national consumer price index (IPCN) is 2.7% for the month of September.
With this result, the six-month average of the index linked to the base 1.1.1948 for the month of September exceeds the threshold of 895.78 points, thus triggering a new indexation.
The new application rate of the sliding wage scale of 855.62 points (old rate: 834.76 points) comes into effect on October 1, 2021, resulting in a 2.5% increase in salaries, wages and pensions on that date.
On October 6, 2021, the final and detailed results of the national consumer price index for the month of September will be published.
